A search is underway after three women and a 13-year-old girl were killed and another teenager was injured in a series of shootings in multiple locations in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States, on Saturday (18), police said.
Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a woman on Howard Drive and have linked the murder to two other fatal shootings that “involve the same suspect.”
The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Mavis Christian Jr., is “armed and extremely dangerous,” police said.
“Preliminary information indicates this was a domestic violence incident, and the suspect is a known relative who fled the crime scenes in a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu with TN tag #390-BHTM in an unknown direction,” officials explained.
In one of the shootings, on Fieldlark Drive, a woman and a 13-year-old girl were killed and a 15-year-old girl was in critical condition, said Memphis Police Department spokesman Christopher Williams.
The other shooting, nearly 13 miles away on Warrington Road, left another woman dead.
Authorities did not identify the victims or provide information about their relationship to the
Memphis police said local, state and federal agencies are involved in the search for Christian Jr.
“If you see him or his vehicle, call 911 immediately.”
