Thriller in Britain: Police officer arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and murder after missing 33-year-old

Suspected of kidnapping and murder considered a British policeman, working in the guarding of diplomatic buildings, who was arrested after disappearance of a 33-year-old woman in London.

According to AMPE, Sara Everard, 33 years old, was last seen at 11.30 pm Greek time on March 3, while walking towards her house, having left the house of a friend of hers in south London.

This is a “worrying” development, as described by police officers.

Police said the officer, who is in his 40s and works in the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Administration, has been remanded in custody since his arrest last night. He is also suspected of a crime against sexual freedom.

A woman, about 30 years old, was also arrested in the same areaor and is accused of providing assistance to a criminal.

London police say a police officer on patrol outside the embassy was not on duty on the night of Everard’s disappearance.

“Shocking and worrying that the arrested person is a current police officer”

“The arrest is a serious and significant development,” said Deputy Chief of Mission Nick Eggrave.

“We will continue to work on this investigation as soon as possible, but the fact that the arrested person is a current Metropolitan Police officer is both shocking and deeply worrying.”

Authorities are conducting extensive searches to locate Everard, with police combing the streets and nearby areas on her way home to Clapham Common.

Police are also searching areas in Kent, south-east London, including a property in the coastal city of Deal and a wooded area near Ashford.

Asked by reporters today if Everard is alive, Eggrave replied: “We are searching as hard as we can to find Sarah, so we really hope that is the case.”

He said he could not provide further details on whether the two knew each other or when the suspect had been serving in the police force.
