“Bernard Denis was found around 12:30 in a field near the center of the village, injured in the face and with nails driven into the tops of his hands and in each of his heels, he was crucified,” said the prosecutor, Michel Girodet. As he mentioned, the nails were like those used by carpenters.
This is not the first time Denny has been attacked. Strangers had set fire to his garage and he had received death threats, but he admitted he had lied when he reported shots fired at him.
Until now, it has not been known whether the deputy mayor was able to speak and give more details about the attack he received or about the attackers.
