The pilot of a small plane threatened to crash his plane into a local Walmart store in Mississippi, local police said today, and the store was evacuated as a precaution.
Local police in Tupelo, Mississippi said they were made aware of the situation earlier today and began speaking directly with the pilot.
“With the mobility of a plane of this type, the danger zone is much larger even than that of Tupelo,” local police said in a Facebook post.
Police said both the Walmart store and a gas station were evacuated and people scattered to surrounding areas.
Clips of video posted on social media, which Reuters could not immediately confirm, appeared to show a small aircraft circling at low altitude.
