Thriller on a Korean Air flight from Istanbul: Passengers saw sparks from the engine – Emergency landing

An aircraft of hers Korean Airwho had departed from Constantinople bound for the city of Incheon, South Korea, made an emergency landing in the capital of Azerbaijan due to damage to one of its engines, as the Korean airline announced today.

The Airbus A330, carrying 215 passengers and a crew of 10, landed at Baku International Airport about an hour and a half after taking off from Istanbul at 18:25 (local time) yesterday Saturday.

Some passengers reported seeing sparks from one of the plane’s engines. The captain informed the passengers that he changed the flight plan to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport.

According to APE – MEB, the plane landed safely in Baku, without any injuries. The passengers spent the night in a hotel in the capital of Azerbaijan and, as announced by Korean Air, they will depart in the morning on another flight to their destination.
