Through social networks, Britney Spears announces the end of her career

Singer Britney Spears surprised fans by announcing the end of her music career in an Instagram post.

The 41-year-old singer also took the opportunity to reflect on the tough phase in which she was under the guardianship of her father, Jamie Spears, which, according to her, would be like “losing her own voice”.

In the video, shared on Tuesday night (6), with more than 42 million followers, the artist appeared dancing to the hit “Get Naked (I Got a Plan)”.

She commented on the controversies that haunted her over the years. “I believe all the rules and having no say for 13 years in what I wanted has given a lot of people a thrill ride!” she added.

In the end, the pop diva added. “No wonder I gave up the music business… Just saying. But, I’m going to London next week for shopping, so things aren’t too bad!”, she ended in the post that was removed from her profile this Wednesday (7).

More reflections

In a new publication full of nostalgia, the “Little Princess of Pop”, as she became known, also recalled the nights she performed in Las Vegas, in the United States.

In the publication, she insisted on bringing a video in which she appears dancing with Mike, one of her former dancers, and confessed that, at the time, she was not allowed to go out and have fun with them.

“Of course I was never allowed to drink with my crew, so I never went out. People won’t believe it, but in four years, I’ve only gone out three times!”

“The only thing I remember from my tours under the tutelage was that I had to feel sexy and dance the night away in every city,” he recalled.

More than a decade under his father’s tutelage

After being hospitalized twice for involvement with illicit drugs and alcohol, the pop diva was placed under the guardianship of her father in 2008. Over 13 years, the singer saw her personal life, as well as her own career, being managed by him.

In November 2021, the measure came to an end after a long legal battle that moved not only social media, but the artist’s fans, with the #FreeBritney protest.
