The actors David Harbor 50, and Florence Pugh 29, described the experience of working with Jake Schreier the director responsible for the film “Thunderbolts*”, from Marvel . In an exclusive interview sent to CNN both artists mentioned that the filmmaker is a “great supporter.”
“It was amazing to work with Jake. All the things we loved when making this movie were defended by him. So it was a great honor to be able to make a Marvel movie that way. He’s a great supporter,” said Florence Pugh, who gives life to Yelena Belova in the story.
Following, she also added that the director believed in each person who hired and thought everyone was great in his duties.
“This was the most amazing, because when we went to the set and he asked us to do something ridiculous – because sometimes you have to do ridiculous things in sets like these – he said, ‘I know, but trust me because you’re amazing and you’ll be able to sell it’ and you thought, ‘Ok, I’ll do it.'”.
Actor David Harbor, Alexei’s interpreter Shostakov also agreed with his castmate by saying that Schreier made the actors feel loved and that the feeling was genuine over the recordings.
“It’s a beautiful thing to reach the set and know that you will be cared for by a director this way and not committed by another department. It was very good,” he adds.
Launched on May 2, the film won a new title less than a week after hitting the big screen. Entitled “The New Avengers” the new name gives spoiler of what happens at the end of the movie – and lives up to the asterisk in the title.
In the exclusive interview sent to CNN Harbor and Pugh still elect a word to describe the movie. While she chooses “surprising,” the actor says, “The word that comes to mind is sweet” and Pugh adds to saying, “Surprisingly sweet.”
