Ticketmaster and Dapper Labs team up to issue fan tokens on the Flow blockchain

US ticketing company Ticketmaster and Dapper Labs, developer of the NBA Top Shop game, will enable event organizers to issue NFTs on the Flow blockchain.

Event organizers who use the Ticketmaster platform to sell live stream tickets will be able to issue collectible Push Tokens (NFTs) that customers will receive in addition to purchased tickets for certain events.

NFT Push can be issued in the form of a ticket, digital souvenir, VIP access or reward at any time during the broadcast of the event. Fan Token holders will be able to send them via email or QR code through their accounts on the Ticketmaster website, which also supports the required wallet addresses.

Ticketmaster has already issued close to 5 million NFTs to event organizers including the Apollo Theater, Sebastian Maniscalco, The Black Crowes and Gavin DeGraw. The companies began to cooperate with Super Bowl LVI – then 70,000 unique commemorative tickets in the form of NFTs were issued, indicating the place of each participant.

“We are partnering with Flow because this blockchain is specifically designed to seamlessly interact with fans and consumers,” said Brendan Lynch, Vice President of Ticketmaster.

In May, Dapper Labs announced the launch of a fund to develop the Flow ecosystem and support NFT developers. A year earlier, Dapper Labs’ Head of Partner Relations at Dapper Labs, Caty Tedman, said that sports organizations are becoming more interested in NFTs amid the rapid development of the sector.
