Popular platform for small videos, TikTok, has updated its advertising policy to ban several topics for promotion. This list also includes cryptocurrency advertising.
TikTok has banned not only cryptocurrency advertising, but also the promotion of any financial and investment products. The ban applies worldwide, regardless of the location of the content author.
As Martin Bamford, head of the Informed Choice global quality assurance program for customer education, noted, popular bloggers often advertise referral programs in various investment services.
“We see a huge amount of such ads, and mostly from poorly informed commentators. They attract subscribers with promises of huge riches, but in reality they just make money on referral links, ”Bamford emphasized.
As a reminder, back in 2018, Google banned advertising of any financial instruments in which users can lose money, including cryptocurrency products. However, in early June, the company lifted the ban and allowed American users to display ads for cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets.
