Tiktoker loses custody of son after wrapping child in plastic film and posting on the internet

An American tiktoker lost custody of her son after posting a video of the child wrapped in plastic film and causing revolt in other users.

In the images, the child’s father appears wearing a military outfit and pushing the baby several times. As the child’s arms and legs are immobilized, he falls onto the bed without being able to defend himself. The video has been deleted.

In a statement on her profile on the platform, Savannah Glembin, who has more than a million followers, appears crying and lamenting what she classified as a family joke. “He was laughing and smiling and it was a funny thing,” she said.

According to her, the baby had been taken away by child protection authorities after the post went viral. “All I can say is that my son is very much loved and cherished. He is my miracle baby, he was my fourth pregnancy after three miscarriages, he is the light of my life,” she said in tears. “We made a mistake and we don’t deserve to have our son taken away because of it,” she concluded.

However, after an assessment by the authorities, custody was returned to the parents and the baby returned home. “The guardianship council cleared us of wrongdoing and determined that our home, with us, is safe for our son. Despite that… a hard lesson was learned, a mistake we will never make again. This weekend has been extremely traumatic for us as a family and will need time to heal.”
