Time change 2021: This Sunday we turn the clocks one hour forward

It’s a matter of a few 24 hours the change of time and the passage to summer time 2021. Specifically, the dawn of the last Sunday of March (March 28), the hands of the clocks will turn one hour forward.

The next time change will take place in October 2021.

The European Parliament recently voted to end the practice of adjusting clocks by one hour in spring and autumn from 2021. This vote would be the basis for talks with EU countries to finalize legislation. But the issue seems to have frozen.

In a recent report, Bloomberg notes that this is not an easy task. And this month, Europeans will turn the clocks of their clocks forward without any confirmation as to whether the practice will be abandoned next year or any other year. So what went wrong?

According to Bloomberg, the culprit for the delay is the pandemic and to some extent Brexit. “The passage of the issue through the complex mechanisms of the EU also shows how easily decisions can get stuck in the cogs of the international bureaucracy if there is no one pushing hard for progress.”

After his vote European Parliament, the agency explains, the change was planned to be implemented after an agreement by the European Council, the European body consisting mainly of heads of state. The Council, however, referred the matter to the European Commission, the EU’s executive arm, saying it could not push for change until the Commission had carried out an impact assessment.

The Commission has insisted, in turn, that the Council must first discuss a common position. The result is a dead end.

This impasse can be easily overcome, but European governments have more important issues to address.. For the past 12 months, European countries have been trying to curb the spread of the coronavirus and ensure the survival of their health systems and economies, so that they do not have to worry too much about the issue of time change, the report said.
