Times revelation: Three assassination attempts on Zelensky in the last week

Ukrainian President Zelensky escaped at least three assassination attempts against him last week, according to a report in the Times of London.

According to the same report, the assassination plans were thwarted as Russians, who are opposed to the war, provided information to the Ukrainian authorities. The Times also reports that the Wagner group was behind the assassination attempt. In case of success, in fact, Moscow could deny any direct involvement in the plan to assassinate Zelensky.

“They would do it with a high-level mission, something the Russians would like to be able to deny. The ‘beheading’ of a head of state is a huge mission,” a diplomatic source told the newspaper.

At the same time, on Saturday, according to the same publication, another attempt against the Ukrainian president was prevented on the outskirts of Kiev when a group of Chechen assassins was found approaching Zelensky.

A Daily Mail report a few days ago reported that more than 400 Russian mercenaries had flown to Kyiv from Africa to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

A private militia known as the Wagner Group has reportedly been instructed by Vladimir Putin to assassinate Zelensky – and 23 other government officials – to allow Moscow to take over its Eastern European neighbor.

According to the Times, the militia, led by oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin – a close ally of the Russian president, often referred to as “Putin’s chef” – transported mercenaries from Africa five weeks ago for the mission. she, in exchange for a huge reward.

Their list of goals includes the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the entire Council of Ministers, the Mayor of Kiev and his brother – both boxing champions who have become emblematic figures on the front lines of the capital.
