The American watch manufacturer Timex Group, together with the Bored Ape Yacht Club community, will release a batch of collectible watches with the image of a monkey on the dial.
The owner of non-fungible Bored Ape Yacht Club tokens from mid-December can order a watch with an NFT image from his own collection on the dial, case and strap for 2 Ether or $2,500. Under each wristwatch, their digital versions will be released in the form of NFTs. Collectors will be able to receive the finished watch in the second quarter of 2023, the manufacturer promises.
Timex Group Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Creative Services Shari Fabiani said that with a creative offering to the crypto community like this product, “Timex is moving to the forefront of the Web3 market”:
“We are redefining and expanding the boundaries of virtual and now physical products.”
The pre-sale of the bored monkey watch took place at a private party for the Ape Yacht Club community in Miami. Several custom-made Timex watches with NFT have already been presented by the manufacturer in the past.
In July, Momint announced that it was tokenizing a collection of South African Krugerrands. NFT holders will gain ownership of a portion of the physical collection of rare coins by becoming co-owners of it.
