“Catapult” for Shimon Hayut or Simon Leviev – “scammer of Tinder“- was his ex-partner, who revealed the drama he lived through, because because of him he ended up in prison, accused of theft.
Courtney Simmons Miller spoke on “Live News” and said she met the Israeli in Cyprus –whose case became a documentary on Netflix– when she was 20 years old.
“He was very normal, nice, charismatic, confident. We were low paid because we were both 20 years old. He had nothing, not even a car. “In order for you to understand, I would go and take him from home to go where he wants”, he said characteristically.
“He called me when he was still in Israel to tell me that he was lying. “That his father sent him to Cyprus to find out the value of the money and that he would return with a large sum of money and invest it on the island,” he said.
The trick that led her to jail
Miller believed what Shimon Hayut said and agreed to work as his personal assistant with a salary of 3,000 euros per month.
“The first job was to rent a car for him. And he explained to me that he wanted a very expensive car and I asked him why and he told me “I am 20 years old. “The businessmen I will meet are much older than me and I want to impress them,” he said on the show.
However, he noted that “it turned out that the credit card he gave me to rent the car was stolen. He was very smart. “Even when we were arrested and found at the police station, he said, ‘Oh Courtney, can you keep my wallet?'”
“And I say yes of course and I put his wallet in my bag so when I was arrested the wallet with the stolen card was in my possession, not his. He was very methodical. “He knew what he was doing,” he added
“My grandmother paid the guarantee”
The first victim of the Israeli swindler noted that he passed three weeks in prison of Limassol and managed to come out with a guarantee paid by her grandmother.
Also, for years after her release, he found it difficult to trust people and to workas people considered her a swindler.
“Simon is destroying the lives of 10 people a day. He is a dangerous man to be tried. “Justice must be done,” he said, among other things.
