In yesterday’s news that Tinkoff officially announced its decision to change the brand, we mentioned that some users began to receive reports of a decrease in cashback. Now iXBT.com can confirm that this is indeed the case.
In a message from Tinkoff Bank, users were informed that the new rules in the cashback accrual system would be in effect until August 31.
The Central Bank has limited the amount of commission that we receive from trading organizations and from which we pay you cashback. Therefore, we are forced to temporarily make changes to the accrual conditions – until August 31, cashback for some purchases will decrease by 2 times. The changes apply only to those categories of purchases (MCS codes) that are included in the list of the Central Bank.
It is also reported that the percentage for increased cashback categories and promotional accruals will not change.

In addition, the possible new name of the bank became known. Tinkoff may be renamed AI Bank. This is indicated by an application submitted to the Federal Service for Intellectual Property with a recognizable bank logo.
Tinkoff said yesterday that it would rebrand and stop using the old brand this year, and added that “the company has been preparing for this step for a long time, but recent events have made this decision even more relevant.”
In the morning, we reported that Oleg Tinkov was selling his stake in Tinkoff.
