Tinkoff paid 20,000 TON for a username on Telegram

Tinkoff Bank rebranded, changing its name to T-Bank. For its Telegram channel the company acquired corresponding username on the Fragment platform.

The deal took place in April – @tbank was purchased for 20,000 TON (about $105,000 at the time of the transaction).

The previous owner paid 104 TON for this username.

At the time of writing, the T-Bank Telegram channel has 289,570 subscribers.

The company plans to gradually update the brand. At the first stage, this will affect the site and application, then – all legal names, card and ATM designs, and envelope design.

Earlier it became known that the Telegram username @dodopizza was put up for sale for 155,555 TON, and representatives of the pizzeria chain of the same name filed a lawsuit against the messenger in an attempt to secure ownership of the lot.

Along with other 35 Russian banks, Tinkoff is under US sanctions.

On March 28, the Bank of Russia issued the company a license to issue DFA.
