In an attempt to guarantee the approval of the PEC dos Precatórios, the federal government started an offensive on the MDB, the party in whose administration the spending ceiling was created.
In the early morning vote this Thursday (4), the majority of the bench of the acronym in the Chamber of Deputies voted against or was absent from the analysis of the proposal that foresees the anticipation of the revision of the fiscal anchor rule.
In the party, only 11 of the 34 federal deputies voted in favor of the proposal. The leader of the acronym, Isnaldo Bulhões Júnior (AL), was against it. In the Federal Senate, the party holds the most numerous bench, with 15 congressmen.
At dawn this Thursday (4), the political articulation of the Planalto Palace got in touch with federal deputies of the party in an attempt to reverse votes for the second round vote on the proposal, expected for next Tuesday (9).
According to reports made to CNN Brasil by two federal deputies, there was a signal of anticipation of the release of parliamentary amendments scheduled for this year.
For the vote in the Federal Senate, which is expected to make the process more difficult, government advisers have argued that President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) should seek the support of former President Michel Temer.
This Thursday (4), members of the allied base were concerned about the announcement made by Ciro Gomes to suspend his pre-campaign for presidential succession in view of the position of the PDT’s federal bench.
In all, 15 of the 24 federal deputies of the party voted in favor of the PEC dos Precatórios. The fear is that a movement by the former governor of Ceará against the initiative could dehydrate the initiative’s vote in a second round.
The proposal was approved early this Thursday (4) with 312 votes. The minimum required to pass it was 308, a score considered tight.
