To CNN, k-pop group E’LAST says it wants to feel the energy of Brazilian fans

One of the greatest desires of an artist is that his art is eternal. Perhaps that’s why the name of the K-pop group E’LAST is short for “everlasting”.

Officially, however, the justification is that they want to stay forever with the fans, the so-called ELRINGs – the combination of “El”, from E’LAST, and “Ring”. It’s as if the group and its admirers are always connected.

In 2023, the ELRINGs have nothing but reason to celebrate. In February, the group released the single “Thrill”, with a lively melody and powerful vocals. The clip also has an elaborate choreography, check it out:

It is the first time that members Rano, Choi In, Baek Gyeul, Romin, Won Hyuk, Won Jun, and YeJun have made a comeback without Seung Yeop, who is doing his mandatory military service in South Korea. A difficult absence that K-pop fans have to face with artists they like.

Another surprise for fans this year was the special participation that the group made in the first episode of the k-drama “O Ídolo Celestial”, available in Brazil through Rakuten Viki streaming.

The production stars Kim Min Kyu (Surprise Suitor) and also marks Won Jun’s acting debut. He plays a K-pop singer from the group Evil Boys. If you like fiction and comedy, you can play!

In an interview with CNN, the members of E’LAST said that they can’t wait to come to the country and meet the Brazilian ELRINGs. They also talked about their “Thrill” comeback and gave tips on what to do in South Korea. Check out:

“Thrill” is their first comeback in 10 months. What is the biggest challenge of this new era?

(Baek Gyeol) The music was the most challenging part of preparing for this digital single. It wasn’t the easiest to sing, as it’s a style we’ve never tried before, so we put a lot of effort into incorporating the mood.

You dance in a very synchronized way. Does it take a lot of practice?

(Romin) We only had a few weeks to perfect the choreography before shooting the MV for “Thrill”. I really think it’s been taking less and less time and effort to get in sync since our debut.

What can fans expect from E’LAST in 2023?

(Rano) There will be more events with us. Not just for fans in South Korea, but also for fans overseas. You can expect a 2023 full of communication and interaction with our fans.

Do you have a TMI* to share with fans?

(Choi In) I went back to watching animations (laughs).

You participated in the drama “Heavenly Idol”, which also marks Won Jun’s acting debut. How was that experience on set?

(Won Jun) I was very excited and nervous since it was my first time shooting a drama. But it was definitely a happy experience because I gave it my all and got a lot of praise from the team.

Would the other members also like to debut as actors? What kind of work would you like to do – films, dramas, musical theater…?

(Won Jun) I want to try everything – but if I had to choose, it would be musical.

Because of the Korean wave, many people want to travel to Korea and experience Korean food. What are your recommendations for places to go or food to try?

(Rano) I want to recommend traveling to Jeju. The scenery is great, and it is a beautiful and well-decorated tourist destination for you to relax.

You have never been to Brazil. Have you heard about the energy of Brazilian fans? Are there plans to come?

(Won Hyuk) I’m in love with Brazil and unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to visit it when we were on our last tour. I really want to feel the passion and energy of our Brazilian Elrings soon! I get excited just thinking about it (laughs).

You are also friends. What is the best memory you had together during these years?

(Yejun) I think the moments we shine the most are when we’re on stage.

What is the best part of being an E’LAST member?

(Romin) The best part is getting all the love and support from our Elrings.

For those new to E’LAST, what three songs would you like them to hear first?

(Won Hyuk) The three songs I recommend are Dangerous, Thrill and Dark Dream.

The group also spoke Portuguese to send a message to Brazilian fans. Check out:
