The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, told CNN in an exclusive interview this Saturday (2) that his campaign is still trying to reach all groups in the electorate, just three days before Election Day, scheduled for November 5th.
“I intend to be a president for all Americans. I am working to win the vote of all Americans, regardless of their gender, race or geographic location,” Kamala told CNN before a rally in Atlanta, in the swing state of Georgia.
The Democratic presidential candidate also emphasized the differences between her campaign and Donald Trump’s, saying that as president she would “be working on behalf of the American people” while Trump would make it “all about himself” in the White House.
Kamala highlighted that she believes voters who voted for Trump in 2020 are turning to vote for her this year because “they are exhausted by the approach that is about trying to get Americans to point fingers at each other.”
“People are tired of belittling who we are as a country. They want a leader who has a sense of optimism and a work ethic on their behalf to really look for solutions, common ground and make things happen,” said the Democrat to CNN.
She cited some of her policies on affordable housing as well as the growing economy and highlighted the importance of the state of Georgia to the election.
“Georgia is incredibly important, and that’s why I’m here and why I keep coming back. The people here have a lot at stake, and I will win the votes, which means I will be here on the ground, listening and talking to people”, he explained.
A new survey by CNN conducted by SSRS shows that likely voters in the state are divided: 48% support Trump, 47% Kamala.
President Joe Biden won the election in Georgia in 2020 by a margin of just 11,779 votes, making it one of the most closely contested states that year.
