The singer Roberto Carlos mourned the death of the writer and comedian Jo Soares, who died in São Paulo, in the early hours of this Friday (5), at the age of 84. THE CNN the artist spoke about the beginning of their friendship.
“I had the privilege of meeting Jô. I met him at the time of Jovem Guarda and, later, the privilege of being with him on some occasions on his program”, said the author of “Como É Grande o Meu Amor Por Você”.
In 2016, Roberto Carlos participated in an emblematic interview on “Programa do Jô”, in which he revealed to suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as the presenter.
In the same edition, the musician surprised the audience by singing “Amigo”, bringing Jô to tears. “Jo Soares. [Era] wonderful, right? An amazing guy, you know? And affectionate, loving… a really high quality person, a wonderful artist. In short, everything”, praised Roberto Carlos.
“Each time I saw him, [percebi] that he was really a very special guy”, continued the singer, who mourned the death of his friend. “I’m terribly sorry. [Sinto] very, very, what happened to him. May our God of kindness protect and bless you. Always,” he finished.
