One helicopter with four passengers crashed in Caieiras in the interior of São Paulo, resulting in a rescue operation that mobilized local security forces.
In an interview with CNN Captain Natália, from the São Paulo Military Police Aviation Command, confirmed that the aircraft pilot and a 12-year-old child were rescued from the accident site.
The helicopter crash occurred under circumstances that are still unclear, prompting a quick response from emergency teams.
The Military Police committed three helicopters to the operation: one to identify the location and two to rescue survivors.
Rescue operation underway
The captain informed that the child’s rescue will be carried out by air, highlighting the complexity of the operation.
“I just received news from my commander that we will also help the child via helicopter,” he told CNN.
In addition to the pilot and the child, it is suspected that there were other passengers on board.
Rescue teams continue to search for possible additional victims.
The aircraft was on its way to the city of Americana when it crashed. According to the Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo, the helicopter lost GPS signal at around 8:34 pm on Thursday night (16).
Authorities are working at the scene to obtain more information and provide the necessary assistance.
The cause of the accident has not yet been determined and will be investigated by the competent authorities.
