Greenland’s outgoing prime minister said today that he would invite political leaders to unanimously and categorically reject US President Donald Trump’s new comments on the annexation of the Arctic island. “The US president has brought back the idea of our annexation to the forefront,” Mrate said in a post on Facebook. “So far and do not provide,” he says. During his meeting at the White House with NATO Secretary -General Mark Rutte, US President Donald Trump expressed, earlier today, the belief that the US would eventually attach Greenland. “I think it will happen,” the US president said, adding that “it is necessary for international security.” Greenland is a former Denmark colony, which belongs since 1953. In 1979 it gained some autonomy and then the first parliamentary elections on the island were held, but Copenhagen continues to define its foreign policy, defense and monetary policy, for approximately a Greenland policy.
