Spotify, the company behind the streaming music service of the same name, has unveiled its first device. It was a car music player called Car Thing.
Designed for Spotify Premium paid users, Car Thing provides access to music and podcasts, a 4-inch touchscreen and a round knob for navigation, and supports voice control. There are also four user-configurable buttons for quick access to features such as favorite tracks, podcasts or playlists.
Car Thing allows you to output music from your smartphone to your car stereo system, connects via Bluetooth, USB and AUX, and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay platforms. The player is compatible with smartphones based on iOS 14 or Android 8 Oreo and newer OS versions.
At first, Car Thing can be obtained for free, but only in the USA and by invitation, selected users will only need to pay for delivery – $ 7. When the full-scale large-scale release takes place, the cost will be $ 80.
