To unlock PEC, Chamber discusses including payment forecast for teachers until 2024

In an attempt to unlock the vote on the PEC on Precatório, the Chamber of Deputies and the Ministry of Economy are considering including in the text of the initiative a forecast for the settlement of judicial debts to state professors by 2024.

Today, the main point of resistance to the proposal has been the lack of predictability in the payment of education professionals, who claim that, according to the current text, they will not receive 60% of the amounts due next year.

According to reports made to CNN, the idea evaluated is to include in the text of the initiative a year-by-year payment forecast for an amount that reaches approximately R$ 16 billion. The discussion is to settle, in 2022, 30%. In 2023, another 30% and, in 2024, the remaining 40%.

According to senator Otto Alencar (PSD-BA), who has helped in the negotiation, the alternative would facilitate the processing in the Federal Senate and has support from the governments of Bahia, Ceará and Pernambuco, where most of the relative court orders are concentrated. to state teachers.

“The governors understood that it would be a solution. And I discussed the matter with the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes,” the senator told CNN Brasil.

In the Ministry of Economy, the alternative has been evaluated as feasible, as well as in the Chamber of Deputies. The expectation is that a new text of the proposal will be presented by the proposal’s rapporteur, Hugo Motta (MDB-AL), on Wednesday (3).

Wanted by CNN, Minister Paulo Guedes said, this Sunday (31), that a solution to the impasse in the Chamber of Deputies has not yet been reached. “Not yet [há]”, he said.

The federal government’s effort is to avoid the need to extend emergency aid, a hypothesis that has been suggested by the Planalto Palace if the PEC dos Precatórios is not made possible.

The possibility of extending emergency aid was revealed by CNN analysts Thais Arbex and Renata Agostini.
