MC Poze do Rodo spoke out on social media shortly after the police action at his home, in Rio de Janeiro, this Friday morning (1).
The Civil Police launched Operation Rifa Limpa against an illegal raffle drawing scheme via social media. One of the targets is MC Poze’s wife, Vivianne Noronha.
“The ‘canas’ came here to the house, search and seizure warrant… it wasn’t about me, it was about my wife. Today was sinister, mané”, he stated in the publication.
The funk singer said that the police “took everything”, including the car, jewelry and cell phones. The Civil Police have not yet reported an official balance of seizures.
“When favela residents start to ‘put their money in their pockets’, it’s uncomfortable. But ‘we’ are super calm, we didn’t do anything wrong”, declared the artist.
He highlighted that his lawyers are already following the case. “I believe that everything will be resolved by next week.”
The Operation
The operation, called “Clean Raffle”, focuses on seizing documents that prove fraud in the processes involved in carrying out the raffles and the items drawn to the supposed winners.
According to the state’s Civil Police, the action also aims to execute ten search and seizure warrants and dismantle the criminal organization, as the authors are suspected of also being involved in money laundering.
The investigations indicate that, by publicizing their activities on the internet, the influencers had, through fraud, the intention of obtaining illicit profits at the expense of a large number of people who participated in the draws.
The police highlight that the published draws were based on Federal Lottery parameters, which created a false appearance of legitimacy and security at the time of publication.
However, the police still claim that there is no official audit to verify the real winner of the published raffle tickets. Furthermore, the influencers used a personalized application which, in turn, raised suspicions of fraud.
The Fraud Office (DDEF), responsible for the action, highlighted that holding raffles requires prior authorization from the Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery (Secap), linked to the Ministry of Finance, and only non-profit institutions are allowed to do so. promote these sweepstakes.
