To know where the future goes. They have no idea, they don’t even begin to imagine it. Meanwhile they are focused on the present, on what they want to do and what they can do. The pandemic hasn’t been easy for anyone, but for them, who are between 15 and 18 years old, it was probably even heavier.
According to Istat (Source: Equitable and Sustainable Wellness Report) the percentage of adolescents who declare themselves dissatisfied and find themselves in a condition of poor psychological well-being has doubled: from 3.2% in 2019 to 6.2% in 2021. On the other hand, around 100,000 young people in Italy would suffer from Hikikomori, deciding to withdraw from social life for long periods, shutting himself up in his room, without having any type of direct contact with the outside world, sometimes not even with his parents (source: National Hikikomori Association Italy).
And it is on these foundations that the podcast was born The voice of your generation to give space to Generation Zwithout any filter: it is they, in three different episodes (Passions – Insecurity – Relationship with others), who tell about themselves, who directly share stories and experiences, expressing needs and daring to express desires.
To do this, Samsung, which conceived and supported the project, chose 12 young people who, after a series of ad-hoc training and education, developed and created the episodes of the podcast, with the hope that this will help them focus their talents.
The exceptional testimonial of the project is the dancer Julia Stable: «I learned that being yourself is really important, like being able to tell yourself for who you are. Sometimes you just need to find the right way to do it. Mine, for example, is dance. For many others it is the voice. That’s why a project like this podcast is so important: because it gives young people the chance not only to express themselves, but also to become the voice of their generation».
