Tom Hanks worked for Cher when he was a hotel employee

Actor Tom Hanks had already met singer Cher in person long before he became an Oscar-winning actor. During an appearance on the North American program “The Graham Norton Show”, he gave more details about his meeting with the superstar when he was just an employee at a hotel in California, in the United States.

Alongside Cher, Julia Roberts and Timothée Chalamet, Tom Hanks spoke about his time working at the venue in the 1970s.

“I worked for Cher. I carried the luggage from the Oakland Hilton Hotel,” he said, surprising Cher. “You were with one of your rock and roll husbands and we were with her purse. And then the order came, ‘Hey, take this to Cher’s room,’ so I did. I knocked on the door, you came out and said, ‘Yes, that’s it. Thank’s boy.’ And that was it”, said the actor.

According to him, the meeting took place between 1975 and 1976.

Tom Hanks even admitted that he has always been a fan of the singer, telling her that “Mamma Mia! 2” is “cinematic perfection”.

Chalamet added his own thoughts on Cher, highlighting her Oscar-winning performance in “Moonshot,” while Roberts highlighted her work in “Silkwood.”

“I think we should all go watch Cher movies right now,” Tom Hanks added.
