Tom Lee: Bitcoin price will rise to $500,000 in the next five years

Quotes of the first cryptocurrency will reach $150,000 by the end of 2024 and $500,000 in the next five years. Tom Lee, co-founder of the analytical firm Fundstrat, expressed this opinion in an interview with CNBC.

“I think in the next 12 months [биткоин будет торговаться] above $100,000. Maybe above $150,000,” the expert said.

Lee also noted the importance of the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Against this background, the price of the first cryptocurrency exceeded $48,000, but then fell below $43,000.

“There will be limited supply over the next five years, but with the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs we have potentially huge demand, so I believe something in the region of $500,000 within five years is within reach,” he added.

In August 2023, Lee predicted the rise of the first cryptocurrency to $150,000 after the SEC approved the tool. He noted the upcoming halving in the spring of 2024 as an additional factor in the growth of the asset.

After the launch of the Bitcoin ETF, author of the best-selling book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and entrepreneur Robert Kiyosaki allowed the price of digital gold to rise to $150,000.

Earlier, ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood predicted the first cryptocurrency at $1.5 million by 2030. The firm's analysts believe that even in a bearish scenario, the Bitcoin rate will rise to $258,500. Their conservative estimate is $682,800.
