After the meeting with Analena Burbok on Friday morning in Athens, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will go to Paris, where in the afternoon of the same day he will meet with his new French counterpart Catherine Colonna.
This is the first meeting between the foreign ministers of Greece and France after the formation of a new government in France, following the parliamentary elections in June.
As diplomatic sources pointed out, this visit is also important in terms of symbolism, as it takes place immediately after the meeting with the German foreign minister, who will go to Ankara after Athens.
The discussions are expected to focus on the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Greece and France, the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean in the light of the current visit of Nikos Dendias to Cyprus, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the new European security architecture and the situation in the West Balkans, as well as the developments in Libya and the Sahel region, as stated in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After the end of the talks between the foreign ministers and their delegations, the two ministers will make joint statements to the press, around 20:30 Greek time.
