Manufacturers, as expected in the modern world, rely on electric cars, advanced technologies and the latest trends in design, but no one has forgotten about ICE cars either. It is especially interesting to watch the competition between economical urban crossovers and huge SUVs with monstrous engines under the hood – in New York they stood on adjacent stands, demonstrating the advantages and disadvantages of each option.
10 Subaru Outback 2023
Subaru employees held a very pompous presentation at the event, which presented a restyling of the all-wheel drive Outback. Although the car reached Russia and Europe only recently, it was introduced in the USA three years ago, so the appearance is already outdated – it has been updated. The front side of the car has become a little more aggressive, there are impressive plastic lining, although in terms of performance or capabilities, the vehicle has not changed one iota. This is still the same powerful option for those who love riding both on asphalt and for those who have long forgotten about it.
9. Kia Niro 2023
Kia decided to satisfy the needs of all potential buyers at once – the new Niro crossover will be sold both in the format of an internal combustion engine car, and in hybrid and all-electric versions. At the same time, the body has become more daring and aggressive, like all the latest models of the company, and large displays of the dashboard and multimedia system have appeared in the cabin. Of course, this is not the kind of announcement that changes the idea of the car market, but it is precisely such urban electric cars that are quite capable of bringing impressive sales volumes to the brand around the world.
8. Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek 2023
While other manufacturers are actively striking with their electric cars, Nissan showed an off-road version of the Pathfinder called Rock Creek at the event. The new SUV received four-wheel drive, a more powerful engine compared to the original, increased ground clearance, roof rails for securing various cargoes, a stylish body color and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. Moreover, the SUV is capable of pulling a trailer weighing 2700 kilograms on a towbar – it is quite possible to carry a motorhome or even small loads with you on trips. And, best of all, sales will start this summer – you won’t have to wait long.
7. Hyundai Palisade 2023
Although the car certainly looks quite attractive, especially from the front, in fact, the new Palisade differs very little from the old one. Most of the changes can be seen on the front and back sides of the crossover, plus the interior has been significantly improved. Due to this, the vehicle smoothly merged into the overall design style of the manufacturer’s modern lines, although nothing has changed in the engine compartment. On the other hand, the original Palisade was already a more than worthy choice, but now it has just been made twice as beautiful and a little more modern.
6Chevrolet Silverado RST EV 2024
Although the American company GMC did not make it to the exhibition in New York, which will probably upset Hummer EV fans, connoisseurs of large and stylish cars should pay attention to the Chevrolet Silverado RST EV. This is the manufacturer’s first electric pickup truck built on the same Ultium platform as the electric Hummer. The vehicle boasts all-wheel drive, 664 horsepower and acceleration from standstill to hundreds in 4.5 seconds – for a pickup truck of this size, this is a very impressive dynamic. And, what is most interesting, the truck is able to charge in 10 minutes to cover 160 kilometers – more than worthy.
5. VinFast VF 8 2023
The Vietnamese automaker, still considered by many to be just a start-up, opened a headquarters in Los Angeles last year and will soon build a huge electric car factory in the United States. And it is VinFast VF 8 that is planned to be produced at new facilities – this is an urban compact crossover that provides 402 horsepower and 500 kilometers of range on a single charge. And the main bonus of the car is that it is promised to be made relatively inexpensive, so American drivers will soon be able to switch to affordable Vietnamese electric crossovers with a very stylish body and a spacious interior.
4.VW ID.Buzz 2023
It’s hard to imagine how the ID.Buzz will fit and park on the streets of Europe, with an even longer wheelbase than the Chevrolet Tahoe, but it certainly won’t hurt minivan fans who appreciate ’60s style in a new wrapper. The new car looks fantastic, has three rows of seats and tons of optional modules for long-distance fans, and a more than adequate price of $45,000 for the base version. Yes, this is not the model that will set speed records, but there will definitely be plenty of people who want to ride on such an electric car.
3 Ford Bronco Raptor 2023
Although the US is actively buying Mustang Mach-E, Ford is not yet ready to completely abandon the internal combustion engine. And why, if the huge Bronco Raptor with a V6 and twin-turbo is able to climb any hill, driving where others cannot even if they wanted to. A real dream for off-road travelers with 400 horsepower, insane consumption and a touch screen in the cabin – however, it costs a whopping $70,000, which is noticeably more expensive than its older brother, the F-150 Raptor (starts at $64,000). Now we can safely wait for the version on electricity – the market has shown that this is quite possible.
2 Alfa Romeo Tonale 2023
For the first time, the concept of a crossover performed by Alfa Romeo was shown back in 2019 in Los Angeles, but now it’s time to demonstrate the production model at the exhibition. As expected, the vehicle received a very elegant body with signature features on the front and rear sides, 272 horsepower on two electric motors and a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. An excellent example of a premium hybrid from a well-known brand that also followed the modern crossover fashion. It is a pity that the price has not yet been announced – it is likely to bite.
1.Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2023
The car can be safely called the brightest visitor to the New York Auto Show – the Corvette Z06 received a monstrous V8 with 670 horsepower, insane acceleration from zero to hundred in 2.6 seconds and a body that is simply impossible not to love. Such a car, of course, will not be produced in large quantities, and driving on public roads on it, to put it mildly, is unreasonable, but it will be more than pleasant to drive a stylish supercar on a race track or on highways. Clear proof that although electric cars are taking over the world market with might and main, people still get a lot of pleasure from the growl of a huge motor.
