Top 3D Intel Arc card for laptops has been spotted on Geekbench. Performance – at the level of GeForce GTX 1060

A laptop called the Intel Corporation Tiger Lake Client Platform has been spotted in the Geekbench database. Judging by the name, this is an engineering sample of a device on which Intel is testing new products, and it’s even clear what new products we are talking about. The device uses a new graphics accelerator manufactured by Intel itself, as the name suggests. And the memory size of 12.6 GB indicates that the solution is discrete.

The 3D card has 512 execution units – the same as the desktop Intel Arc Alchemist based on the DG2-512EU GPU – this is the promising top-end graphics card from Intel for desktop computers. And in the Intel Corporation Tiger Lake Client Platform, therefore, the top discrete accelerator for laptops was lit up. The GPU frequency was 1.8 GHz, and the performance in the OpenCL test was only 32,034 points, which is approximately the level of the GeForce GTX 1060. Such low performance is probably due to the fact that the 3D accelerator has not yet been optimized, especially from the side of software and drivers . The finished version of the flagship 3D card will clearly have higher performance – approximately at the level of the mobile GeForce RTX 3070 or even more.

According to rumors, the official announcement of Intel Arc Alchemist 3D accelerators will take place before the end of the quarter. Mobile GPUs should be the first to be shipped, and later discrete Intel graphics cards for PCs will go on sale.
