Just yesterday, Sony unveiled its latest flagship camera smartphone, dubbed the Xperia Pro-I. And now the manufacturer has published a new official video dedicated to the packaging of the smartphone.
Sony is taking its commitment to the environment to the next level. The company said the Xperia Pro-I is the first Sony smartphone to be free of plastic packaging.
Packaging Design Engineer Tomoyuki Nishizaki describes the process of removing all traces of plastic from packaging as part of Sony’s commitment to zero waste. There is a green sticker on the back of the box “No plastic in the package.” More manufacturers are expected to follow Sony’s lead in removing plastic from their device packaging soon.
Recall that the SonyXperia Pro-I received a 4K OLED screen, a Snapdragon 888 single-chip system, Zeiss optics, an inch image sensor, IP68 dust and moisture protection, and a price of $ 1,800.
Pre-orders will begin accepting on October 28, but retail sales will kick off in December.
