“Top Gun: Maverick”, with Tom Cruise, arrives on Netflix

The sequel to the 1986 hit, which brings Tom Cruise back in one of his most iconic roles, “Top Gun: Maverick” arrived in the Netflix catalog, just over a year and a half after its debut in theaters.

Released in 2022, the film was one of last year's biggest box office successes, grossing around US$1.5 billion. And now it can also be watched on the streaming platform.

The film directed by Joseph Kosinski resumes the story of Navy pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise), 36 years after the first feature (with a considerable delay in release due to the Covid-19 pandemic).

Maverick's career has not lived up to his flying skills – largely because he has a bad habit of not following orders and disrespecting authority.

However, one last chance to grow in the Navy seems to present itself to him, as he is called back to Top Gun to train pilots for a top-secret mission.
