The total stock of credit in the country rose 0.8% in February, totaling R$ 4.711 trillion. The value is equivalent to 53.3% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The numbers are from the Credit Monetary Note, released by the Central Bank this Thursday (28). The document shows that the average interest rate was 25.7% per year, with a monthly increase of 0.4%.
The number of new operations, on the other hand, dropped 0.6%, with the value of concessions going from R$400.5 billion to R$398.3 billion. Of this total, BRL 208.6 billion were in loans to families and BRL 189.6 billion in concessions to companies.
At 2.5% of the total balance of operations, delinquency remained stable in relation to the previous month. In the year, however, there was a rise of 0.2%, compared to February 2021.
In free resources, the stock of credit reached R$ 2.816 trillion. Also in this segment, the granting of credit totaled R$ 364.5 billion in February.
Credit with earmarked resources, which is subsidized by governments, totaled R$ 1.894 trillion. The granting of credit totaled R$ 33.8 billion.
