After ending December with net outflows of US$ 12.482 billion, the country recorded exchange rate negative of US$ 1.658 billion in January, until the 13th, informed this Wednesday, the 18th, the Central Bank. In 2022, the balance was positive at US$ 9.574 billion.

The financial channel showed net outflows of US$ 1.632 billion in the period. This is the result of contributions in the amount of US$ 19.680 billion and withdrawals totaling US$ 21.312 billion. The segment brings together foreign direct and portfolio investments, profit remittances and interest payments, among other operations.

In foreign trade, the January balance, up to the 13th, was negative by US$ 26.0 million, with imports of US$ 8.852 billion and exports of US$ 8.826 billion. Exports include US$ 835 million in Advances on Exchange Contracts (ACC), US$ 1.621 billion in Prepayments (PA) and US$ 6.370 billion in other inflows.

Brazil registered a negative exchange flow of US$ 681 million last week, from January 9 to 13, informed the Central Bank.

The financial channel showed net inflows of US$ 1.048 billion in the period. This is the result of contributions in the amount of US$ 10.109 billion and withdrawals totaling US$ 9.061 billion.

In foreign trade, last week’s balance was negative at US$ 1.729 billion, with imports of US$ 5.049 billion and exports of US$ 3.320 billion. Exports include US$ 323 million in ACC, US$ 535 million in Prepayment and US$ 2.462 billion in other inflows.
