Egyptian authorities have announced that 28 people have been rescued and that search operations are continuing to locate 17 others after a tourist boat capsized off the coast of the Red Sea in Egypt. The vessel “Sea Story” was carrying 45 people, including 31 tourists of various nationalities and 14 crew members, on a multi-day diving excursion when it capsized near the city of Marsa Alam, according to a statement from the Red Sea Government. Earlier, Governor Amr Hanafi said some survivors were rescued by helicopter and taken to medical facilities. Efforts to locate other survivors continue in coordination with Egypt’s navy and army.
