The roof of a historic tower in Fengyang County, China, about 320 kilometers from Beijing, collapsed on Monday (19).
The Fengyang drum tower is almost 600 years old, and was built in 1375 during the Ming Dynasty.
According to a statement from the authorities, the tiles on the east side of the building fell around 6.30 pm local time.
People in the region filmed the exact moment of collapse. No one was injured.
The Reuters news agency was able to verify the location of the images from the building structure, the words on the wall and the road map seen in file images and street view.
The date was confirmed through a statement from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Fengyang County.
