Toyota, Aurora and Denso join forces to develop self-driving taxis

The partnership between Aurora and Toyota was announced this week. The union also has a third member – the Japanese supplier of auto parts Denso. By the way, it is pertinent to recall that in April 2019 Toyota, Denso and SoftBank invested in equal shares in Uber’s self-driving car division $ 1 billion.

As part of the collaboration, the partners plan to develop and test cars with Driver self-driving technology developed by Aurora. To begin with, they will equip the Toyota Sienna minivan fleet with the appropriate hardware and software, and then deploy it as part of a full-scale self-driving taxi service. The test park is planned to be deployed by the end of 2021
