For fourteen years, Toyota has stubbornly exploited the 200-series “Kruzak”, occasionally delighting fans with renders or merged photos of the novelty. Fortunately, now the Land Cruiser 300 is officially presented – and this is a completely new car that, despite all modern technologies, has managed to retain the key features for which it is loved. The 300th version was built on the GA-F platform – it is based on the global architecture of TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) and is characterized by a new much stronger frame, which at the same time became 200 kg lighter.
In addition, to reduce the total weight of the Land Cruiser 300, the manufacturer decided to use aluminum parts – this material is used for the hood, doors, roof and front fenders of the SUV. However, Toyota decided to use the saved kilograms to install additional equipment – for example, much better sound insulation is installed here. The company also decided to abandon the rather gluttonous V8 that was installed in the last generation – at the start, the new SUV will come with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 415 horsepower (the V8 last generation had only 381 horsepower).
The manufacturer even stated that the Land Cruiser 300 on this engine will be able to accelerate from zero to hundred in 6.7 seconds – an impressive figure for such a large SUV. But most of all, the car has changed in the cabin – there is a full-fledged digital dashboard, a large 12.3-inch touch screen of the multimedia system, all the seats in the cabin are equipped with heating, there is a four-zone climate control, and in the future a package for 7 seats will be presented – initially five.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not yet ready to name the cost of the new product, although sales of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 are planned to begin this summer.
