Toyota showed a crossover from the future: with a graceful body and curved displays

Today, November 17, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Toyota employees officially presented to the world its latest bZ compact crossover concept, which is part of the Beyond Zero BEV line of electric vehicles of the future. Accordingly, the manufacturer used a proprietary design language, but it could not do without interesting innovations – for example, the crossover body looks more attractive, bold and sophisticated compared to the company’s previous concepts. A distinctive feature of the new car are its running lights – they are extended along the hood and wings, creating a rather unusual pattern.

Also, on the front side of the car, which is quite logical, there is no radiator grille, like ICE-analogues on the market. An electric car does not need such a grille, so the hood here is “cut off” at a rather impressive angle – it smoothly passes immediately into the front bumper. The bumper itself is decorated with a decorative element made of black plastic, there are “nostrils” (probably decorative with plugs) and there was even a place for a license plate – this is a rarity for concept cars. Behind the car, of course, also attracts attention – the manufacturer uses something like a spoiler immediately at the end of the roof, plus there is an impressive bumper and brake lights stretched along the entire fifth door.

But the most interesting thing about the car is located in the cabin – the manufacturer decided to stand out by implementing curved displays for the digital dashboard and multimedia system display. The decision is extremely unusual, it looks fresh, but, of course, how practical and convenient it will be in everyday life is an unanswered question. For example, even in renders of a concept car, you can see that the display shows noticeable glare at the bend, and the real display in the sun will look even worse. On the other hand, this is a unique feature that is clearly designed to attract attention – most likely, this will not get to the release.

Of the interesting features of the car, it is worth highlighting the fact that the concept is built from environmentally friendly materials. The manufacturer even decided to give up luxury, creating an extremely minimalist interior design – there is no glove box (perhaps it will be added in the release version, albeit a very small one), the seats look rather poor, and the gray plastic panels give off the basic version of some budget car . However, no one cancels the fact that the concept will be supplied with such an interior only in the basic configuration, while the top one will have leather, aluminum or even wood.

The manufacturer did not name any approximate dates for launching the car into the series, since the car is clearly not yet ready for release.
