Tragedy has rocked Long Island, New York, as a teenager died during a charity hockey game held in honor of a classmate who had died in a car accident last year. Massapequa High School senior Connor Casein, 17, suffered a “medical episode” and collapsed on the ice during a break in play at the Town of Oyster Bay Skating Center in the Bethpage area around 9 p.m. Saturday. Many “citizens” watching the game rushed to the ice and performed CPR on the teenager, waiting for first responders, Nassau County police said in a statement. According to the nypost, Casein was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the medical episode remains unknown.
