Three children found death in fire which broke out today in a house in New Orleans of the USA.
The divorced mother had earlier called the police, making a complaint that the children’s father was threatening to set fire to the house. She was absent at the time.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, they were informed that the fate of three children was unknown. A three-year-old boy was found dead inside the house, while a five-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy were found in a critical condition and were taken to a hospital, but doctors were unable to save them.
Police believe 29-year-old Joseph Washington may have carried out his threats to set the house on fire, a version bolstered by US media reports that security camera footage shows him leaving the house shortly before the fire broke out.
The victims’ grandfather, Troy McDonnell, appealed to his son to surrender.
