Tragedy in Texas: Eight-year-old boy dies of suffocation while playing hide and seek

An 8 year old boy lost his life after getting stuck between a washing machine and a dryer while playing hide and seek.

According to Wrangler Hendrix, chief of staff at People’s County Sheriff’s Office, by Jewett Texas of USAwas playing during a visit to a relative’s home in Coolidge, Georgia with his grandparents on Friday.

Authorities believe the boy was trying to hide behind the devices when he got stuck there. The child’s family discovered it “stuck between a washing machine and a dryer” and immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Wrangler, son of Rhonda White and William Andrew Hendrix, was a sophomore.

Authorities were called to his home when his family found the eight-year-old was not meeting, according to Thomas County Sheriff Tim Watkins.

The child was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia, where resuscitation efforts continued. “After about an hour of resuscitation efforts, the doctors wrote as the time of death at 7:28 pm”

Although police believe Hendrix died of suffocation due to location, official necropsy was performed in the last hours.

“The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office would like to express our deepest condolences to the Wangler family,” said Officer Watkins.

“My heart breaks for all of you. I pray for rest and consolation for you in these dark days. Wrangler was a sweet man. “I am so grateful for the time I was the driver of his bus,” one man wrote in an online tribute. “He had such good manners and cared for his sister. They were so excited about their trip and the beach. We joked that they wore a lot of sunscreen as they got off the bus. “Rest in peace in heaven, Wrangler.”

His funeral will take place on Tuesday, June 21 at 2 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church in Jewett.
