A young woman has died after falling overboard from a cruise ship while sailing in the English Channel off northwest France. According to the BBC, the ship “Virtuosa” raised an alarm at around 2 am on Saturday (4 am in Greece) in search of a woman of around 20 years old north of the Le Casquet rocks, in northwestern France. The French search and rescue service said the woman was pulled from the sea by a helicopter crew. Doctors later pronounced her dead. It is noted, however, that the circumstances under which the young woman ended up in the water have not been established. A passenger on the ship told the BBC that the alarm went off three times to signal that a person had fallen overboard.
