Tragic record of coronavirus deaths in Colombia in the last 24 hours

One day after it was overtaken in Colombia the limit of 80,000 dead because of it coronavirus, the country’s Ministry of Health announced yesterday Saturday that in the previous 24 hours the deaths of another 530 patients were confirmed, a number that is a tragic record, with the death toll reaching 80,780.

During the same period, 18,873 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed, bringing the number of people infected to 3.1 million, while intensive care units (ICUs) are now almost completely full of patients in their hospitals. Colombia’s largest urban centers, where massive anti-government demonstrations have been taking place every day in recent weeks, notes the APE-MPE.

The immunization campaign in the country of about 50 million inhabitants, which is affected by a third wave of the pandemic, continues. So far, 7.2 million people have received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, of which 2.7 million have received the second.
