Bleeding for Turkish society is inflation, which soars uncontrollably. While Turkish Finance Minister Nurettin Nebati is complacent that the Turkish pound has nowhere else to go but to rise, Turkish citizens are forced to cut meat at a large rate.
Characteristic is the fact, as butchers say on the coasts of Asia Minor, that ground beef now tends to be completely replaced by ground beef chicken, whose demand is declining rapidly.
At the same time, hundreds of Turks are flocking to butchers to catch up with the “low” prices before they rise further as there is a fear of new increases day by day.

Within a day the price of meat increased by almost 50%!
The Meat and Dairy Foundation announced that it has increased meat prices by 48%. The new price list of the institution was published on the website.
Following the price increases, the cost of 1 kg of minced meat increased from 56 pounds to 83 pounds and the price of 1 kg of meat in pieces from 62.50 pounds to 92 pounds.
Detailed price differences:
According to industry representatives, meat prices are expected to rise by at least 30% in the next two months due to high costs and lack of supply.
Problem with milk
It is also reported that the number of dairy companies in Turkey has been gradually declining over the last three years due to the squeezing of milk prices and rising production costs.
It is estimated that the damaged dairy farmers find the solution by slaughtering their animals and thus the number of female cattle is reduced and the production of new animals is reduced.
They cut meat from restaurants
The increase in the price of meat has also put restaurants in Turkey in a very difficult position, which removes meat dishes from their menu. “We do not cook with meat. It is really expensive. You have to sell a plate of meat for at least 70 pounds to avoid damage. As prices have risen we have removed meat dishes from the menu,” said Azime Keskin, a restaurant in Izmir.
Omer Ercan also said in Izmir that for the famous Turkish sandwich with kokoretsi that “we buy meat for 150 pounds. You can not sell a sandwich for over 40 pounds. So we cut the meat”.
