It’s not today that the regulars of Trancoso know the ethnicity. It was in 2001, that Etnia Casa Hotel opened its doors, right next to the Quadrado – the most popular quadrangle in the south of Bahia, with its restaurants, art galleries and boutiques -, and that quickly became one of the most sought after accommodation options. of the place.
Now, after 20 years, the hotel is opening a second development, the ethnicity of grace. Run by businessman André Zanonato, the new house is next to the Etnia Casa Hotel and equally 5 minutes from the Quadrado and 15 minutes from the beach.
The new Etnia does not have villas, but has 11 suites, distributed in different categories: Luxe (all with private heated pool), Master, with a soaking tub, and Doubles. “All are ideal for welcoming couples in search of comfort and exclusive services, since, at Etnia Casa Hotel, we only had two villas. With this new address, we will be able to receive this audience with the same attention and care”, delivers Zanonato to CNN Viagem & Gastronomia.
In terms of infrastructure, the boutique hotel will offer a swimming pool, parking and concierge. Another differential is that it has a ballroom with a capacity for 200 people, which will allow the organization of events. Internally, the suites have air conditioning, telephone, internet and cable TV, in addition to L’Occitane brand amenities. As for the decoration, all furniture and objects are produced in the region and refer to local traditions and culture.
About the choice of name, Zanonato explains: “The concept is a reference to the name Maria da Graça, very common throughout Brazil. It also brings a double meaning when expressing our way of being, the gracefulness of the decoration details and the careful care in the choice of materials used in the finishing and civil construction, such as the plank ceiling, which is a typical wood often used in buildings . Everything was thought out to give guests the feeling of really being in Bahia, as the atmosphere undoubtedly refers to our village”.
The Ethnic label accumulates awards such as Traveller’s Choice Tripadvisor and Booking Guest Review Awards. The head office, for example, is part of the Brazilian Luxury Travel Association (BLTA) and was recommended by the UK Times as the only one in Brazil among the ten best hotels in the world to stay.
