“Transformers: Origin” is about “friendship and loyalty,” Chris Hemsworth tells CNN

Whoever thinks that “Transformers: Origins “is just another movie with robots, explosions and impossible missions is wrong – well, it is that too. But, above all, the production, which opens in theaters this Thursday (26), explores universal feelings: friendship and loyalty .

The film explores the origins of the franchise’s two main robots, Optimus Prime and Megatron. Although they are mortal enemies in other titles, here they start out as great friends . “I think we’ve all had friendships that we were passionate about, but in the end, followed different paths . As we grow, we realize that we may not like the same things anymore and we discover that we are incredibly different “, reflects the actor.

Hemsworth, who voices Optimus Prime, continued: “The exploration of friendship, loyalty and the point at which betrayal occurs was something I really enjoyed delving into. And not all love stories are created equal, right?”

“This is, in many ways, a love story—it’s about what happens when someone comes into your life and changes it, for better or for worse, but changes it nonetheless,” he adds. Brian Tyree Henry who voices the villain Megatron. “It’s also about finding and developing your own identity in this world.”

In addition to Hemsworth and Tyree Henry, the animation features voices from Scarlett Johansson (“Marriage Story”), Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Key & Peele”), Steve Buscemi (“Boarwalk Empire”) and Laurence Fishburne (“Matrix”).
