Trapped letter with explosives and to the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez

Spanish authorities revealed today that a intercepted letter, with characteristics “similar” to the one that exploded yesterday Wednesday at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid, had been sent on November 24 to the prime minister Pedro Sanchez.

Spain’s Ministry of the Interior announced that “an envelope containing pyrotechnic material” and addressed “to Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez (…) was located and neutralized by the security services of the Presidency of the Government on November 24.”

Yesterday Wednesday, off the letter bomb sent to the Ukrainian embassyanother one was found in a weapons factory in Zaragoza.

Another one today an explosive device hidden in a package was mailed to Torrejon de Ardoth Air Force Base outside Madrid, El Mundo newspaper reported. According to the same newspaper, a corresponding letter was found today at the Ministry of the Interior.

Security around public and diplomatic buildings will be strengthened, the Ministry of the Interior stressed, as reported by international agencies and relayed by the Athens News Agency.
