The drummer of the band Blink-182, Travis Barker said that the Voepass plane crash in Vinhedo in the interior of São Paulo, in August made him relive his traumas related to flying.
Barker was seriously injured after a 2008 plane crash in the United States that left four people dead. The artist spent years without boarding an aircraft and only resumed the habit in 2021, although he still suffers from the trauma left behind by what happened.
“I was fine for a while. But that plane crash in Brazil made me fall apart when I was [em turnê] in Europe,” he said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
“God bless the souls of all those people. I was more affected than I had been in a long time, and it caused me to have one of the most real nightmares I’ve had since my accident, and I wasn’t able to fly for the rest of the tour. I took 15 19-hour bus trips, took ferries. I just flew to Europe and back [para os EUA]”, added the drummer.
According to Barker, he doesn’t plan to fly until at least next year: “I’m not in a good state to fly right now and I’ll be traveling by bus for the rest of the year. I have my good moments and my bad moments, and right now I’m really shaken.”
